



Robert was selected as a "Featured Chef" in the James Beard Foundation's Discovery Series. He has also been hailed by The Boston Globe as "a chef known for his innovation and risk taking," Fathman signed on as executive chef at Azure in October of 2002. Previously, he worked at such Boston landmarks as The Federalist, Grill 23 and Trio.
He served as executive chef at the Waterfront Restaurant in Cincinnati and as chef at several California restaurants. Including The Water Grill, I Cugini and the Pine Avenue Fish House. It was during his time on the West Coast that Fathman fine-tuned his appreciation for regional seafood and a devotion to local, fresh products and ingredients. Fathman's commitment top freshness and his penchant for innovation necessitate the creation of new menu items at least eight to twelve times a year.
Fathman attended Cincinnati's Culinary Arts Academy and has earned numerous awards and accolades over the years.
Fathman describes his cuisine at Azure as "American with subtle French, Asian, Latin, and Mediterranean influences."
